ACORN 8

Co-founded by Marcel Reid and Karen Inman, the ACORN 8 is a watchdog organization of former ACORN insiders and National Board members who  attempted to reform the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN) following the discovery of a multi-million embezzlement. ACORN did not live up to its original mission; and that was to give meaningful voice and empower low and moderate income members of society. ACORN had been corrupted from its original purpose by senior management and an organizational structure that exploited the very low and moderate income membership the community organizations were founded to serve.
